Oncology Coordinator

The Oncology Case Coordinator works collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team, providing a range of specific clinical nursing and education skills to support excellence in care for all Haematology patients along the continuum.

They work across inpatient, outpatient and day oncology services in close liaison with treating Medical Oncologists, Nurse Unit Managers and the direct care teams, coordinating treatment plans, daily care, supportive care, discharge plans, providing patient education and assisting staff with chemotherapy education and administration.

Together, Amie and Carly have over 30 years’ experience at St John of God Hospital Geelong in Haematology and Medical Oncology practice. They will meet with you prior to treatment for education if required, will endeavour to see you each time you are receiving treatment and will review you daily if you are an inpatient.

They will be aware of your treatments, management plans, and any issues that arise. They are here to answer any questions that you and your family may have.

They will coordinate all your care needs with your treating doctor, nurses and administration team.
